Mount Errigal Reaches New Heights with RST

The Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny has, over the years, earned a reputation for being one of the finest hotels in Donegal. And after having undergone some fine renovations and refurbishments over the last few years it can now boast the finest in cuisine and quality, in the most exquisite surroundings.

Wheelers Family Restaurant- over 30 years of peace of mind with EPoS Systems from RST

Liam Green began ‘Wheelers’ as a traditional fish & chip shop in 1971 and recalls buying his first cash register form Neil Bradley, Managing Director of RST in and around that time. “It was an old push down mechanical NCR 100 Series, a far cry from RST’s modern touch sreen EPoS systems today!” recalls Neil “at the time this model was as state of the art as there was and cost around £15”. Wheelers has developed into a well known family restaurant and has been an institution in Derry for many years and has always been a customer of Neil’s and RST. Liam has a unique relationship being one of RST’s oldest customers “In terms of length of doing business, not my age” explained Liam. “I have always bought my cash registers from RST, like many of my suppliers I have had a long term relationship with them, we prefer dealing with people who look after us.”

Through the years Liam has had a number of EPoS systems from Retail Systems Technology, from Sharp Cash Registers in the late 1970’s and 1980’s to Panasonic terminals from the mid 1990’s. New RST paging systems let waiters wait on guests, not the kitchen

Retail Systems Technology introduces its new range of server paging systems. The system is designed to let waiters spend more time with guests and less time in the kitchen. When a waiter comes in for their shift, they are allocated a pager. When an order is ready, the chef simply presses one button to instantly page the waiter. The TE-310 is a low-cost server-paging solution. This UHF transmitter can page up to sixteen waiters with the simple push of a button.

It’s ideal for kitchens and bars. The system handles up to 16 pagers and built-in dry-erase magnets let you change server names quickly. Multiple transmitters can be used if you need to page servers from different locations throughout your restaurant.

The TE-10 Wireless Cancel Panel means when a server is paged at any location, they can return to the cancel panel to stop a page.

Waiter pagers keep customers happier because they receive faster service. Plus, it improves waiter performance so restaurants get faster table turns and higher bill averages.

Preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games are really heating up in Beijing. Once again, protel hotelsoftware GmbH has qualified for the Olympic Games. protel’s hotel software took home the gold at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens: Now it’s time to tackle a new challenge at the Beijing Olympics.

This May, the “Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad” (BOCOG) chose protel after an exhaustive review of many hotel management software products. protel’s local Beijing representative, Mr. Zhang Hui of First Information Systems, a protel partner, is working closely with protel’s team at the head office in Dortmund to implement a protel multi-property solution in Beijing.

BOCOG has been busy preparing for the 29th Olympic Games since 2001. From the beginning, its goal has been to make sure all construction projects for the Olympics stick to a tight schedule. There are more than 650 star-rated hotels in the city.” 17,200 athletes and officials alone will live in Beijing’s Olympic Village during the 29th Summer Olympics, while two “Media Villages” with a total capacity of 7,000 beds were constructed just for credentialed reporters.
